On Saturday August 16 at Alverthorpe Park the weather was great, the smells from the grill was tantalizing, but what made the day perfect were the people and the laughter and excitement of the youth playing basketball, football, kickball, and games

On Sunday August 3 2008 The GCC Pastorial Staff, GCC Congregation, and Guest participated in a special prayer service for children ages 1 year or younger.

On Wednesday July 2 2008 Pastor Larry Anderson was the Guest Speaker at Nazarene Baptist Church located in Nicetown Philadelphia. Our very own GCC Praise team joined in on an evening full of music and the word of God.

On Sunday May 18 2008 GCC hosted our first Philly Cookout. Missionaries from Alabama joined us in a day of worship and fellowship.

On Saturday May 17 2008 Missionaries from Alabama Joined GCC in a free car wash for the West Oak Lane Community. Missionaries also joined us in a clean Up and Paint Up of the GCC Property.

On Sunday April 20 2008 Great Commission Church had a ceremonial ribbon cutting and dedication to commemorate the purchase of the new building.

Congratulations to: Chet Carter, Isaac Hamm, Tom Fitzhugh, Carl Madson, Rich Walton, Aaron Lyner, Eric Hooks - Layman at Great Commission Church who were trained in the men's discipleship class to share from the pulpit God's word.

Great Commission Church Participated in the Willow Grove NAACP Unity Day. At Crestmount Park to celebrate the diversity of the Abington Community. It was a day full of food,fun,entertainment and fellowship.

On Saturday August 18 at Alverthorpe Park family and friends joined in a day full of food, fun, basketball, tennis, kickball, and miniature golf.

The weather was great, the smells from the grills were tantalizing, but what made the day perfect were the people. Watching the laughter and excitement of the youth playing basketball, football, kickball, and red-light green-light was a joy.

The house was packed and the worship was overwhelming. The music ranged from Rap to Latino praise. The different expressions of praise reflected the different gifts that make up the body of Christ.

Congratulations to: Chet Carter, David Hackley, Isaac Hamm, Sam Harris, Aaron Lyner and Malcolm Walls - laymen at GCC who were trained in the men's discipleship class to share from the pulpit Jesus’ Last Words from the Cross.

There was hardly a dry eye in the house as we all shared in the wonderful outward expression of the candidates’ commitment to Christ. Congratulations to John Barbour, Joe Jenkins, and Sharon Thomas who made decisions that day to follow Christ!
